JUMPS jockey title leader Jack Kennedy has fractured his right shin following his second-fence fall at Downpatrick on Friday and is set to spend four to six weeks on the sidelines.
The 17-year-old from Dingle fell from Shane Billy in the 2m7f handicap chase and was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for x-rays after the fall.
Writing on Twitter, Kennedy said: "Thanks for all the well wishes. I've a fractured fibula so I should be back in no time."
Kennedy is top of the Irish jump jockeys' championship having helped himself to 41 winners already this season, 13 more than his nearest pursuer Davy Russell.
