VIVLOS (Yasuo Tomomichi/Yuichi Fukunaga) landed the final leg of the Japanese fillies' triple crown with a half-length defeat of Sheikh Fahad Al Thani's Pearl Code at Kyoto racecourse.
Racing in the middle of the pack entering the home straight, Vivlos came with a sustained surge down the centre of the racetrack to take victory in the final yards.
Fukunaga said: "We were in a perfect position and the trip was smooth and in good rhythm. I was aware of Biche behind me at the third corner but we were able to pick our own timing for the move. Her sister [Verxina] had a lot of speed and staying power but this filly has a tremendous burst of speed."
Pearl Code had briefly hit the front inside the final furlong as she tracked and then overtook Kaiserball, but she was unable to hold off the burst from eventual winner Vivlos.
Favourite Biche made some headway during the race having missed the break but faded and finished a disappointing tenth.
