JOCKEY Club Racecourses have launched an initiative that will enable 18 to 24-year-olds to attend meetings at its 15 tracks – which include Aintree, Cheltenham, Epsom and Newmarket – for half price.
The 'RacePass 18 to 24' membership card is eligible for fixtures from December 1.
Paul Fisher, group managing director of JCR, said: "The Jockey Club exists only to further British racing and, while this move costs money in the short term, it is a long-term investment in our sport's future.
"We need to ensure that cost is not a barrier for young people wanting to go racing. It means that our relationship can be based on whether they have a fantastic experience at the races, and we can focus on trying to ensure our incredible sporting heroes, stories and rivalries captivate that next generation."
Among the meetings the RacePass gains its members half-price entry to are the Wednesday of the Cheltenham Festival, the Thursday and Friday of the Grand National meeting, the King George, Guineas and Coral-Eclipse.
