THE TOP price at the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale now sits at €52,000 with agent Gerry Griffin securing a fine son of Kapgarde.
At this sale two years ago Griffin went to €50,000 for another son of the sire, Betameche, who has impressed in winning both his starts in the Britain and, like that horse, this gelding will be going into training with Nicky Richards for an existing client.

Sold by Mocklershill Stables and another to make up for missing a Derby Sale engagement, the three-year-old is out of a Listed-placed French hurdler and he shares his sire with the likes of Garde La Victoria.
A pair of €35,000 lots lead the way during the early exchanges.
The first to hit €35,000 mark was a three-year-old son of Kapgarde offered from Dick Frisby's Glenwood Stud who was snapped up by leading point-to-point trainer Denis Murphy.
The half-brother to two winners, who was unsold at the Goffs UK Spring Sale three months ago, is out of a useful dual-purpose runner in France.
Margaret O'Toole then matched that price for a son of Milan from the noted Wexford-based Parkville Stud nursery.
The gelding, who was making up for his missed engagement at the Derby Sale, is from the family of Jessies Dream, who gave Gordon Elliott the first Grade 1 triumph of his career when he won the 2010 renewal of the Drinmore Novice Chase.
