Le Breuil facing a rise in class
Ben Pauling is considering some lofty targets for his impressive Sedgefield winner Le Breuil.
Trainer Ben Pauling: Has high hopes for novice hurdler Le Breuil
A 10-length winner of his first bumper last season, Pauling was disappointed when he was beaten at Bangor on his seasonal reappearance but he looked a natural on his first try over hurdles.
"To be honest he did exactly what I thought he would do," said Pauling.
"I was shocked when he was beaten at Bangor but he probably found the ground a bit quick and the track too tight.
"I've always thought he was very good and he looked like the horse I think he is at Sedgefield.
"I think I'll look for another novice at the end of the month or early December and then start looking for serious targets around Christmas.
"If he impresses again, you'd be looking at the Challow (Newbury, December 31). His jumping was very good, fast and economical so I wouldn't be worried about bringing him back to two miles.
"Tom Cannon said he felt like a classy horse and anything between two and three miles would be fine so the Tolworth (Sandown, January 7) would be another option."
