Librisa Breeze delights Ivory
Dean Ivory believes the return to seven furlongs will see Librisa Breeze in an even better light in Tuesday's Qatar Lennox Stakes at Goodwood.
A winner of two huge handicaps over that trip last season, he has run with great credit in Group Ones over six furlongs the last twice.
Most recently he finished fourth on his seasonal return in the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot.
"It was a cracking comeback run and with a bit more luck, he got a bit of a bump, who knows what might have happened?" said Ivory.
"I would have thought seven furlongs will suit him even better, over six everything just happens a bit quick.
"I'm really looking forward to it."
Limato is the 5-2 favourite with Coral after appearing among 20 confirmations.
Henry Candy's five-year-old has gone close twice over six furlongs this season, finishing third in the Diamond Jubilee before finding only Harry Angel too strong in Newmarket's July Cup.
He will return to seven furlongs for the first time since last autumn if turning up at Goodwood.
"With a Group One win to his name over seven furlongs – in last year's Prix de la Foret – Limato is a worthy favourite for the Lennox Stakes, and the money we have seen for him today suggests he will be taking his chance at the Sussex track next week," said Coral's David Stevens.
Seven-furlong specialists like Home of The Brave, Breton Rock and Dutch Connection are likely to provide stiff competition.
Aidan O'Brien could run Spirit Of Valor, Peace Envoy or Cougar Mountain, with the likes of Dream Castle, So Beloved, Stormy Antarctic and Mix And Mingle also still in the reckoning.
