MICHAEL MAGILL of Bellewstown Stud Farm in Navan has ventured into the stallion business and will stand his homebred Life Force at Moortown Stud in County Wexford at a fee of €2,500.

An unraced six-year-old son of Invincible Spirit, he is out of the unraced Halling mare Red Vale and a brother to Grade 1 hero Vale Of York. At Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale last year his Kodiac half-brother topped the auction when bought by John Ferguson for 380,000gns.

Magill said: "Life Force is an imposing, deep-bodied, masculine horse with an easy free flowing action, good attitude and temperament. As a juvenile he showed an impressive turn of foot, will and determination to compete at the top of his game.

"Unfortunately a persisting low-grade infection of the hind joint prevented him from reaching the track."
