Litigant back for Champions Day
Joseph Tuite's injury-plagued stayer Litigant is on course to return to action at Ascot on Champions Day.
Litigant leads Buonarotti home to win the 2015 November Handicap.
Despite all of the horse's problems Tuite managed to get him in good enough shape to win the Ebor and November Handicap last season.
Another problem earlier this year has led to him not running so far during this campaign, but a need for soft ground means he may not have had his ground in any case.
His only defeat last year came in the British Champions Long Distance Cup, and Tuite wants to right that wrong.
"It's all systems go now, he's in full work," he said.
"Things are good at last with him, he was given a clean bill of health off our vet the other day. All roads now lead to Champions Day at Ascot.
"There's a little race at Newmarket we could go for before then if I felt I needed to, but I'd have thought it was more likely he'd go straight to Ascot.
"The one silver lining of him having all his injuries is that we know we can get him ready without a run and he goes well fresh.
"If I can get him to Ascot in the same sort of shape he went to York last year, then I'll be happy."
