UNOWHATIMEANHARRY could face as many as 12 rivals when he bids to take the next step on the road to the World Hurdle in March in Saturday's Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

Britain's leading World Hurdle hope is no bigger than 5-1 for the Cheltenham Festival race, with only Faugheen shorter in ante-post markets after a convincing Grade 2 success at Newbury last month.

Ballyoptic finished six lengths behind Unowhatimeanharry on that occasion and is in line to take on the Harry Fry-trained eight-year-old again at the weekend, with Lil Rockerfeller also in the frame after pushing Yanworth all the way in a Grade 2 at Ascot last month.

Reve De Sivola won the Long Walk Hurdle three times in a row from 2012 to 2014 and at age 11 is the most experienced among Monday's confirmations, while champion trainer Paul Nicholls has two options in Zarkandar and Ptit Zig.

Temps back over hurdles

Hennessy tenth Un Temps Pour Tout could revert to hurdles, with the red-hot Colin Tizzard yard, who claimed the race last year with Thislecrack, set to rely on West Approach should they bid to win it again.

Baracouda won the race three times for France earlier in the century and the nation's hopes of doing so again this year rest with the Simon Munir-owned Alex De Larredya, trained by Francois Nicolle. The six-year-old landed the Grade 1 Grand Prix d'Automne on November 5.

Also at Ascot on Saturday, Annacotty heads the weights among 20 confirmations for the Listed Lavazza Jolie Silver Cup, while Willie Mullins could be represented by Renneti in the Grade 3 Wessex Youth Trust Handicap Hurdle, formerly run as the Ladbroke Hurdle.

Campeador, who had been favourite with a handful of firms, was not among the 24 confirmations for the race.
