Martin won’t rush Anibale Fly
Tony Martin was delighted with the performance of Drinmore Chase runner-up Anibale Fly and is looking forward to the rest of the campaign with the exciting novice chaser.
Anibale Fly (2nd l) won't be rushed
The French-bred chased home Coney Island in a strong renewal of the Grade One contest at Fairyhouse on Sunday, giving owner JP McManus a one-two in the race.
The six-year-old was making just his second start over fences, having won on his chasing debut at Navan.
Connections are in no rush to make plans for Anibale Fly, who holds entries in Grade One contests over two-mile-one and three miles at Leopardstown over Christmas.
"It was a great run and hopefully he's a nice horse going forward with," said Martin.
"He's entered over Christmas, but I'd rather give him a week and see how he is before I make any plans.
"There is no point making any plans yet. He came out of it all right, but we'll give him a week before thinking about plans.
"It was a good run and I'm very happy with it. The form of the horses around him is very good."
