McBride seeking solace at Redcar

Charlie McBride hopes to give Spiritual Lady a stalls test during the Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket ahead of a possible tilt at the totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy Stakes at Redcar.

The daughter of Pastoral Pursuits was withdrawn from the Weatherbys Hamilton £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes at Doncaster, which she was vying for favouritism for, after playing up in the stalls.

With the two-year-old now required by the British Horseracing Authority to undergo a test before her next start the Newmarket handler is hoping he can take her to the Rowley Mile on Friday.

McBride said: "We are just gutted. The filly got upset in the stalls, but she is fine. She never has done that before and I don't think it will happen in the future.

"I put her in the stalls on the gallops this week and she stood there with no problems. She is still in the Redcar race and I think we will go there, but she has got to have a stalls test first.

"Hopefully we will do that at Newmarket if we are allowed to."
