Medicean gallop pleases Gask

Medicean Man is due to retire after Royal Ascot

Veteran sprinter Medicean Man warmed up for his final racecourse appearance at Royal Ascot with a gallop at Kempton on Tuesday morning.

Trainer Jeremy Gask was delighted with the 11-year-old, who will be making his sixth successive appearance in the King's Stand Stakes on the opening day of the five-day meeting on Tuesday.

"He worked at Kempton and he's all set for his last run at Ascot. That will be his last run," said Gask.

"He's in great shape and is his old self. He worked very nicely. I'm very pleased with him."
