Mile high for Mott’s Tourist

The European raiding party failed to fire as Tourist led home Tepin in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

The field turns for home in the Breeders' Cup Mile and Tourist (second right) gets the perfect split.

Trainer Bill Mott was winning his tenth Breeders' Cup race with Tourist who enjoyed a dream run on the rail under Joel Rosario, the jockey winning a fifth Breeders' Cup race himself.

Rosario was always travelling well on the rail and he got a lovely split between rivals off the final turn.

Tepin closed down the winner late on after enduring a more troubled passage, but Tourist already had the race in the bag.

Limato was always prominent and the gallop was furious, Henry Candy's horse wilting out of contention late on.

Alice Springs never landed a blow.
