Min in line for chasing debut

The much vaunted Min could make his debut over fences this weekend after featuring among the entries for Sunday's Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Beginners Chase at Navan.

Min could reappear this weekend

The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old had been the subject of plenty of positive reports even before his debut for Willie Mullins last winter and two impressive displays at Punchestown saw him sent of a hot favourite for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham, where he found Nicky Henderson's Altior too strong.

Altior made a flying start to his career over fences at Kempton on Monday to confirm his place as ante-post favourite for the Arkle Trophy, with Min a best-priced 7-1 for the potential rematch at Prestbury Park next March.

Mullins, who won the same Navan contest with the brilliant Douvan last season, has also entered dual Grade One-winning hurdler Bellshill and Blazer.

Other contenders include Jessica Harrington's Don't Touch It, a Grade One winner at Punchestown, and Fire In Soul from the in-form yard of Henry de Bromhead.

Joseph O'Brien has left in Edwulf, who fell over fences and hurdles last season.

"He's going chasing and we think he's a nice horse, he fell over fences at Navan and he also fell in a hurdle race last season, but he is a good jumper," said O'Brien.

"He's a big horse, who has been given a lot of time and hopefully he will reap the rewards in the years to come.

"He may go to Navan at the weekend."

Dual Cheltenham winner Cause Of Causes heads 47 horses still in contention for the Ladbrokes Troytown Chase on the same afternoon.

The Grade Three 'Monksfield' Novice Hurdle has attracted 14 entries, with Death Duty and Labaik among five possible runners for Gordon Elliott.

Stretchingthetruth is one of four contenders for Noel Meade, while the only Mullins representative is Livelovelaugh.

There are plenty of exciting sorts in the mix for the opening I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle, although several also have the option of running at Gowran Park on Saturday.

These include high-class Mullins-trained bumper pair Battleford and Invitation Only and Liz Doyle's exciting youngster Without Limites.
