MINDING made it six individual Group or Grade 1 winners in the month of October alone for her incomparable sire Galileo with an authoritative victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday.

She follows Alice Springs (who won the Sun Chariot Stakes), Found (Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe), Rhododendron (Fillies' Mile), Churchill (Dewhurst Stakes) and Photo Call (First Lady Stakes).

Remarkably, Minding also made it a half-dozen of top-level winners for Galileo this July – although she did that when she won the Nassau Stakes on July 30. There are still 16 days of October to go.

Coolmore juggernaut Galileo, widely regarded as the best sire in the world, has progeny earnings in Europe for 2016 in excess of £15 million.

His other flagbearers this year have been Highland Reel, Mondialiste, Order Of St George, Seventh Heaven and The Gurkha.

Minding was bred by Coolmore entity Orpendale, Chelston and Wynatt out of the Danehill Dancer mare Lillie Langtry, winner of five races including the Coronation Stakes and Matron Stakes at the highest level.

The cross of Galileo over a Danehill Dancer mare is also responsible for this year's multiple Group 1 winners Alice Springs and The Gurkha.

Lillie Langtry is out of the unraced Darshaan mare Hoity Toity, making her a half-sister to Listed Celebration Stakes winner Count Of Limonade.

The mare has been mated with Galileo in every year of her paddocks career, and has also bred Kissed By Angels, winner of the Group 3 Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial, and How, who showed a good level of form this year for Aidan O'Brien – including when third to Brave Anna in a Curragh maiden – but has been sold to race in the US.

Lillie Langtry has so far only produced fillies at stud and has a yearling and foal by Galileo.
