Missy Tata heading for Cheltenham
The OLBG Mares' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival is the long-term target for Missy Tata after she completed a five-timer at Limerick's Christmas meeting.
Missy Tata heads to the Mares' Hurdle
Following wins at Punchestown and Killarney last spring, the Gordon Elliott-trained five-year-old picked up where she left off after her summer break with a short-priced success at Limerick in October.
She comfortably followed up in Grade Three company at Naas the following month before seeing off two rivals in impressive fashion back at Limerick last Wednesday to bring up a significant milestone for one of her owners.
Anthony Bromley, racing manager for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, said: "Missy Tata was Simon's 100th winner of the calendar year.
"He's had 52 in France and 48 in England and Ireland, so it was nice to get to that figure before the end of the year.
"She has been very well placed by Gordon to win five races in a row and she's a good mare.
"We'll see where we go next with her. I'd imagine it will be a mares' hurdle in England as there's not much else for her in Ireland.
"We were planning on going chasing, but we've put that on hold until next season and her main aim is the David Nicholson (OLBG Mares' Hurdle) at the Festival in March."
