RYAN MOORE'S return to race-riding could be imminent, with the three-time champion jockey understood to be fit following an injury-enforced layoff.
Moore has not ridden this month, writing in his Betfair blog after a successful Glorious Goodwood, during which he limped when walking: "As has been obvious for a while now I've been a bit sore. After seeing a specialist it has been decided I'm going to rest and give the injury time to heal 100 per cent.
"It wasn't affecting my riding, but after Goodwood it was clear the best thing to do was to give it time to heal properly."
Moore added: "I'm not putting any timeframe on the recovery period, if you can call it that – and I'm not talking about the specifics of the injury either, as that's a private matter – but it isn't anything serious."
That is set to be borne out by Moore's return, which will see him back on the pick of trainer Aidan O'Brien's formidable team.
Speaking at York yesterday, O'Brien said: "I think and hope Ryan will be back sooner rather than later but not this weekend."
