New stamina test for Dancer
Mirage Dancer could step up to a mile and a half after his creditable effort at Royal Ascot.
The son of Frankel took another step forward when finishing third to Benbatl in the mile-and-quarter Hampton Court Stakes and Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah, believes a switch up in trip looks likely in the future.
He said: "He is a work in progress. He is still really raw and he ran really well at Ascot. There is plenty more improvement in him.
"There are no exotic plans, we will just take it gently with him. He will strengthen up and furnish.
"I would think that ultimately we would probably look at stepping him to a mile and half, but that doesn't necessarily mean on his next start.
"He has a Great Voltigeur entry, but there are other possibilities for him."
