Dubai 100 Autumn Stakes (Group 3) 1m, 2y0
BEST SOLUTION proved suited by the step up to a mile as he produced an improved performance to register a first Group-race success in the Autumn Stakes.
Best Solution, who is trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, had been an unlucky-in-running fourth in the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes on the Rowley Mile last time but he was always in the right position to strike here under William Carson.
Carson tacked Best Solution over to the favoured stands' rail from his low draw and was always going well in the slipstream of leader Montataire. Best Solution was asked to stride on two furlongs from home and he stuck to his task well to fend off the challenge of Zainhom and win by two lengths.
Bin Suroor said his runner could be set for an overseas campaign: "We will have a look at the Racing Post Trophy if it doesn't come too soon for Best Solution," he said. "Beyond that he could go to Dubai for the 2,000 Guineas or UAE Derby."
Favourite The Anvil could finish only third, four lengths behind the winner, while well-fancied Lockheed did not handle the undulations and failed to make an impression.
The winner was introduced into the 2,000 Guineas market at 33-1.
