News makes the headlines at Cork

Peace News made a very taking debut on his first start for Henry de Bromhead at Cork in a hot maiden hurdle on Sunday.

Henry de Bromhead, trainer of Peace News.

Henry de Bromhead's newcomer, who holds an entry in the Grade One Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on December 4, never looked in any danger in the Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

The youngster was highly regarded by Willie Mullins but never made it to the track for the Irish champion trainer and was one of the 60 horses moved by Gigginstown House Stud.

Dylan Robinson just did what was needed on the 7/4 favourite, who beat Chirico Vallis by two and a half lengths. with Timi Roli third.

Robinson said: "He travelled very nicely and felt like a very good horse. He had loads left in the tank and has plenty of gears."

Peace News earned a quote of 14/1 from the sponsors about winning the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
