Nicky Richards on weather watch
Nicky Richards will monitor the weather before deciding whether to give Eduard his first run for 20 months in the Stella Artois 1965 Chase at Ascot on Saturday.
Eduard could run at Ascot
The Greystoke trainer reports the eight-year-old's preparation to have gone swimmingly after making a full recovery from leg trouble that has kept him off the track since he finished fourth in the Ryanair Chase in March 2015.
However, Richards will only send him down to Berkshire if he is happy with ground conditions.
He would not want the going to dry out after it was described as good to soft on Wednesday.
"I see it was soft, good to soft in places and now it's gone to good to soft so I'm just going to keep an eye on the weather, but I'd be half-hoping to go there," said Richards.
"Proper good to soft ground will probably be ideal.
"He's had a good, long preparation and he's ready to run."
