HARAS de Montaigu has a new name on its National Hunt roster for 2017 – German Group 3 winner Night Wish.

The six-year-old will join Martaline and No Risk At All on offer to jumps breeders at the Normandy stud, at a fee of €3,000.

Night Wish was saddled by Sarah Steinberg to win the Group 3 Grand Prix de Vichy this year.

Formerly trained by Wolfgang Figge, he won the Listed Grand Prix-Aufgalopp at Cologne and finished third in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden and Preis von Europa at four.

Night Wish is by the Sadler's Wells stallion Sholokhov, sire of this year's Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Don Cossack and other high-class jumpers Dell' Arca, Esmondo and Kruzhlinin.

He is a brother to German Oaks and Grosser Preis von Baden heroine Night Magic out of Listed-placed Night Woman, a daughter of growing National Hunt influence Monsun.

Night Wish was bought by BBA Germany as a yearling at Baden-Baden for €200,000, paying a compliment to his looks.
