DUAL Derby hero Australia has been chosen as the first cover for dual German Group 1 winner Nightflower.

Trained by Peter Schiergen, Nightflower raced from two to four, and was successful in a Group 2 Oaks Trial at Hoppegarten at three.

Nightflower won the Group 1 Preis von Europa twice at three and four and was second in the German Oaks. She was also second twice in the Grosser Preis von Baden and once in the Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten.

Owned and bred by Jurgen Imm's Stall Nizza, Nightflower is out of the Group 2 Italian Oaks winner Night Of Magic.

She is yet another success story for the stud, which recently celebrated Nutan's win in the German Derby in 2015, and Nymphea's success in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Berlin in 2013.

Australia stands at a fee of €35,000 at Coolmore Stud, having stood his first two years at a fee of €50,000.

He has his first yearlings in 2017.
