O’Callaghan excited by Power
Michael O'Callaghan can barely hide his enthusiasm for I Am Power, who looked an exciting prospect when making a winning debut at Navan earlier this month.
The son of Power made light of giving weight to all his rivals when strolling to a cosy success and he will run next at the Curragh.
"He's come out of the race very well. He's a lovely, exciting two-year-old to have," said O'Callaghan.
"His next start will be six-furlong winners' race at the Curragh on the Monday after Galway (August 7).
"He's a very talented horse. He still possibly could be absolutely anything. I've done very little with him because he had a setback earlier in the year and he'd only been back in full work about a month before his race the other day.
"He was barely ready to start off but his class saw him through and he'll improve hugely for the run.
"He gave most of the field the best part of a stone. His first start was over a sharp five and, considering he'll be better over six furlongs, he showed a great burst of speed. He was very impressive on all fronts considering he was by no means wound up for the race.
"He'd had very little done and to give the whole field weight made it more impressive."
