One Track Mind bids to get his chasing career "back on track" when he lines up at Catterick on Tuesday.

The Grade One-winning hurdler never recovered from a first-fence blunder on his fencing bow at Newbury and though he got round, he was beaten 92 lengths in last place behind Clan Des Obeaux.

Trainer Warren Greatrex has done his utmost to restore the horse's confidence and gave One Track Mind the go-ahead for the Come Racing New Year's Day Beginners' Chase after he pleased in a Monday morning schooling session with regular race partner Gavin Sheehan

"Gavin was happy, we were all very happy and there's no reason not to run him," said Greatrex.

"He's fit and healthy and the schooling went well, so we're going to give it a go.

"At Newbury, I think it was the first time in his small, young career he'd done something like that and it shook him a bit and it took him a while to get over it.

"We've done plenty of schooling since and I was happy with what I saw (on Monday morning) and we go to Catterick. It looks a good little race.

"First and foremost we want to have a nice, clear round and get back on track.

"If he does that he'll be hard to beat, so we've got it a go."

One Track Mind faces six rivals in the Catterick race over three miles and one furlong, including two from Sue Smith's stable, Delusionofgrandeur and Vintage Clouds.
