Oz trip confirmed for Scottish
Charlie Appleby has confirmed Scottish is bound for Australia after he returned to winning ways at York.
Scottish: All set for Australia
The Caulfield Cup is the likely target for Godolphin's four-year-old gelding following his tidy victory in the Group Three Strensall Stakes, which made up for his surprise defeat at Haydock.
Though all of his wins have been at around a mile and a quarter, Appleby is not unduly concerned at the extra two furlongs of the Moonee Valley feature in October.
"He has done well and he will probably head to the Caulfield Cup," said Appleby.
"It is stepping up to a mile and a half, but it's an easy mile and a half around Moonee Valley.
"He went up another 3lb for his win at York and that was his ticket to Australia.
"It was good for him to get his head in front and it is good he is going there on the back of a win.
"The Strensall Stakes was just one of those races that suited, timing-wise. He shows plenty of pace and we knew he had the pace for the race to see it out. It was just another good run."
