A round-up of the early action from Newbury, where Partitia put her debut experience to good use.
Partitia, ridden by Pat Smullen, leads the field home to win the Betfred EBF Stallions Maiden Fillies' Stakes
Partitia demonstrated the best of her battling abilities to get off the mark in the Betfred "Supports Jack Berry House" EBF Stallions Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Newbury.
Having finished down the field on her first start at the Berkshire track last month, the Sir Michael Stoute-trained two-year-old put in a much-improved performance to clinch victory in the six furlong event.
Kept close to the firing line throughout by Pat Smullen, the 10-1 shot hit the front around two furlongs from home.
Although he was momentarily headed by newcomer Considered Opinion in the closing stages, the daughter of Bated Breath fought back gamely to defeat the Ralph Beckett-trained filly by a neck, with slow-starting favourite Promising the same distance in third.
Stoute said: "We thought she would run very well here last time but she just didn't get her act together although she was only beaten by about four lengths.
"This was more like her. She is a tough and honest little filly."
There was late drama in the race as Nicky Mackay hit the deck after his saddle slipped aboard the Simon Dow-trained Chica De La Noche.
The jockey walked away from the incident seemingly unscathed.
