Pauling in no rush with Hare
Ben Pauling will not aim too high too soon with A Hare Breath after he made a winning chasing debut at Bangor.
A Hare Breath: Pauling delighted with Bangor success.
A smart hurdler, he was fourth in the Greatwood at Cheltenham on his return to action in November, he could be an even better chaser.
Up against a couple of decent rivals in Starchitect and Gala Ball, A Hare Breath quickened up after the last to win by five lengths.
"I was very pleased with him. He had a good look at the first (fence) and I thought Richie (McLernon) gave him a very good ride after that to get him jumping well later on," said Pauling.
"He put the race to bed going to the last and stayed on well after it, he did it nicely.
"I don't know what mark they'll give him and we'll probably try and win another novice somewhere under a penalty.
"He's definitely above average and although he's going over fences late in life at the grand old age of eight, I think chasing will be his game as he was quite slow over his hurdles."
