Dermot Weld: Rins Eziyra

Trainer Willie McCreery is happy to let Perle De La Mer test her powers in a higher grade in Sunday's C.L & M.F Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh.

The Born To Sea filly made a big impression on her racecourse debut at Galway at the start of the month, pulling readily clear for a dominant success.

The form has been advertised positively since and while McCreery acknowledges his charge has far more on her plate this weekend, he is keen to give it a go at this late stage of the campaign.

"She's been great since she ran and we'll see what she can do," said the Kildare-based trainer.

"She's always been a straightforward filly and the filly that was second to her in Galway was second again at the Curragh during the week, so it wasn't a bad race.

"It's a big step up, but there's not a lot else for her before the end of the year and we'll take our chance.

"There's a lot of rain forecast so we'll see which way the ground goes. It'll be tacky at the moment so a bit of rain wouldn't hurt to loosen it up a bit."

Setting the standard on Irish form is the Dermot Weld-trained Eziyra.

Owned and bred by the Aga Khan, the chestnut filly bolted up on her second start at Galway before being pipped by Sea Of Grace in the Flame Of Tara Stakes at this venue a month ago.

Jockey Pat Smullen said: "She seems to be in good form and hopefully the hood will help her.

"The form of her last run there behind John Oxx's filly is good and I'd expect her to run another big race.

"If the rain comes, I don't think it would inconvenience her too much."
