Persse among Bahrain nine

Royal Ascot winner Atty Persse heads nine declarations for Thursday's Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket.

Winner of the King George V Stakes for Roger Charlton, the Godolphin-owned colt will step up to a mile and five furlongs for this Group Three event which is traditionally a notable St Leger trial.

John Gosden has won four of the last six renewals and he will be double-handed on this occasion with Crowned Eagle and Face The Facts.

Aidan O'Brien claimed victory last year with Housesofparliament and he runs Wisconsin while the Godolphin pair Tamleek and Wolf Country along with Desert Skyline, Raheen House and Sofia's Rock complete the field.
