SIR PRANCEALOT is now long odds-on to sire the most individual winners in Britain and Ireland up to the end of the Flat turf season, having delivered a flurry over the past fortnight.
The Tally-Ho Stud resident was a 14-1 shot in RaceBets' market in late June and only nine days ago was still available at 6-1. But since then his price has shortened dramatically – from 11-2 to 9-4, 13-8, 5-4 and 11-10 on Tuesday.
Another three new individual winners since then has meant Sir Prancealot is now trading at a prohibitive price in the freshman market.
"Despite those price cuts, the money kept pouring in for him, forcing RaceBets to further shorten him to 2-9, 1-5 and finally 1-9 [on Thursday afternoon]," said Joseph Burke, who manages the market for the firm.
"RaceBets are essentially betting now as if this is a fait accompli."
Sir Prancealot has been represented by seven new winners in Britain and Ireland since August 16, as well as a number of repeat scorers – including Sir Dreamalot, who was an easy four-and-a-quarter-length winner at Tipperary for Andrew Slattery on Thursday.
