SHE has become synonymous with winners at the Cheltenham Festival but next year Nina Carberry will be watching not riding after revealing on Thursday she is pregnant with her first child.
The winner of the Irish Grand National on Organisedconfusion in 2011, Carberry, 32, rode her 16th winner in Ireland last season at Down Royal last Friday.
She announced on Thursday evening: "I'm going to miss the rest of the season as I am delighted to announce I am expecting my first baby. I would like to thanks all the owners and trainers who have supported me and I wish them every success in the season ahead."
Carberry secured her fourth success in the the festival's Cross Country Chase in March on board Josies Orders and two days later uccessfully teamed up with On The Fringe for the second year running in the Foxhunter Chase.
