Prince up for Musselburgh Cup
Caspian Prince, three times winner of the Epsom Dash, heads 42 five-day confirmations in the William Hill Scottish Cup Sprint Cup Handicap at Musselburgh on Saturday.
The Tony Coyle-trained eight-year-old incurred a 6lb penalty for his latest success in the five-furlong sprint on Derby day, taking him up to the steadier of 9st 12lb.
Should Caspian Prince attempt a big sprint double then he would renew rivalry with old adversary Duke Of Firenze.
A matter of inches behind in third place in the Dash, David Griffiths' charge bids to improve upon his third place in the Musselburgh feature 12 months ago.
"He's come out of Epsom well. It was a cracking run and we're heading to Musselburgh with him now," said Griffiths.
"He was third in it last year after he was beaten about two lengths in the Dash last season.
"This year he goes there only beaten a short head and a nose at Epsom."
Others from the Epsom race in contention for Scotland include A Momentofmadness (fourth), Edward Lewis (fifth), Desert Law (seventh), El Astronaute (eighth), Line Of Reason (ninth) and Kimberella (10th).
