RED GIANT, a Grade 1-winning son of Giant's Causeway, has been sold by Westbury Stud in New Zealand to continue his stallion career in Turkey.
The 12-year-old's new owners are Serdar Ozcolak, Cem Ozyigit and Tarik Tecke and he will stand under the Turkish Jockey Club banner.
Red Giant is a half-brother to Grade 1-placed Wyomia out of the Listed-placed Kingmambo mare Beyond The Sun.
He was trained by Todd Pletcher to win the Grade 2 Virginia Derby and finish second in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes at three and to win the Grade 1 Clement L Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship and Grade 2 Fourstardave Handicap at four.
Red Giant formerly stood at Hill 'n' Dale Farm and Three Chimneys in Kentucky, and shuttled to Westbury Stud.
His best progeny are US stakes winners Surgical Strike, Catcha Rising Star and Puddifoot, while son Red Strike was a Listed winner in Australia.
Another new addition to the Turkish stallion ranks is Danon Ballade, a Japanese Grade 2-winning son of Deep Impact, who has been purchased by Ozcolak Stud, Turkish Bloodstock and SifRa.
