Regally bred Frankel filly set for Salisbury debut
By Chris Hill 6:37PM 9 OCT 2016

SALISBURY plays host to a regally bred daughter of Frankel on Monday with John Gosden introducing Khalid Abdullah's homebred Icespire in the 7f fillies' maiden at 2.50pm.

Icespire certainly has the pedigree to succeed both as a juvenile and beyond being a half-sister to Special Duty, the European champion two-year-old filly in 2009 following victories in the 6f Cheveley Park Stakes and 5½f Group 2 Prix Robert Papin.

The daughter of Hennessy registered two further top-flight victories aged three when she was awarded both the 1,000 Guineas and Poule d'Essai des Pouliches in the stewards room, and since retiring to the Juddmonte broodmare band has produced the Listed Prix Yacowlef runner-up South Bank.

Out of the Distant View mare Quest To Peak, a once-raced sister to seven-time US Grade 1 heroine Sightseek and half-sister to dual US Grade 1 victress Tates Creek, Icespire is also a half-sister to Exemplify, a winning miler by Dansili, and three-parts sister to 1m4f scorer Ventoux, a daughter of Galileo.

Roger Varian has selected the race to introduce Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's juvenile colt Daira Prince, a Dubawi half-brother to 2010 Pretty Polly Stakes heroine Chinese White.

Bred by Lady O'Reilly's Castlemartin Sky and Skymarc Farm, Daira Prince is out of 1m3f Group 3 scorer Chiang Mai, a Sadler´s Wells half-sister to 1990 Prix de Diane victress Rafha, dam of leading sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac.

Fierce Impact was one of six foals purchased by David Redvers on behalf of Qatar Racing at the 2014 JRHA Select Foal Sale by champion Japanese sire Deep Impact.

Trained by David Simcock, the ¥66million (£354,233/€516,496) colt is the first foal out of dual Japanese Grade 3 winner Keiai Gerbera, a daughter of Smarty Jones and hails from the family of US sire Boundary.

Nathaniel colt Joshua Reynolds is a half-brother to three winners including dual 1m2f Group 1 heroine Speedy Boarding whose second top-level victory came in the Prix de l'Opera at Chantilly.

John Gosden's runner is a son of 1m3f Warwickshire Oaks winner Dash To The Front, a Diktat half-sister to fellow Listed scorer and dual Group 1-placed Dash To The Top, and shares his page with Meon Valley Stud's 1987 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes heroine Milligram.

Dash To The Front's yearling colt by Frankel – a three-parts brother to Joshua Reynolds – was bought by Shadwell at Book 1 of last week's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 500,000gns.

Sister to Just The Judge introduced at the Curragh

The Curragh's opening race sees the unveiling of another regally bred juvenile with Faradays Law, a Lawman sister to 2013 Irish 1,000 Guineas and 2014 E P Taylor Stakes winner Just The Judge, having her first start for Willie McCreery in the 7f maiden at 1.45pm.

Owned and bred by Joan Keaney-Dempsey out of the twice-raced Rainbow Quest mare Faraday Light, a half-sister to Group 3 scorer High Heeled, Faradays Law is also a sister to the winning miler Amber Silk and half-sister to the two-time Listed-placed Obliterator, a son of Oratorio.
