Richard Fahey: Growl can back up
It's the final column of the year with the turf season drawing to a close at Doncaster. Fingers crossed we can have a winner somewhere but it's very competitive.
Growl (silver) bids to back up this run behind The Tin Man
We're double handed in the Betfred 'Racing's Biggest Supporter' Nursery.
Yarmouk has been a bit disappointing and we're trying him in blinkers here to see if that will help. It's a warm little nursery as you'd expect at this time of the year but my horse has ability and will definitely win races although it may be he's better next year after being gelded.
Party Tiger is our other representative and he's been running well of late. He had a little issue with the stalls earlier in the year but is over that now and you can't draw a line through him after his last two runs.
We've got three in the Betfred 'Supports Jack Berry House' Handicap including last year's winner Withernsea. It was soft ground that day and while he does have some form on this quicker surface, I do feel the slower the better for him. There's nothing else left for the horse this year though and we've kept him for this race so we'll run and see how he goes. We're delighted with him at home.
Right Touch is rated as high as he'd want to be right now but is in great order and seven furlongs on this ground should be right up his street.
I've got to say George Bowen has been a little unlucky on his last two starts. He's run himself into some form and is very well handicapped if he gets the breaks. He just needs to prove he stays this trip.
I was very pleased with Growl's run when second at Ascot on Champions Day. If he can back that up in the Betfred Mobile Wentworth Stakes on the quicker ground then he'd have a huge chance. There's no reason to suspect he can't and we're very happy with him.
Both of my runners in the Betfred TV EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Gillies Fillies' Stakes would prefer softer ground.
Imshivalla was placed in the race last year but that was on heavy going and she'd need a deluge to be at her very best. It's going to be tough for her but she's going well.
I'd be delighted if Belle Travers could hit the frame and pick up some Black Type. It's her final run before she heads off to the paddocks but I'd have preferred to have seen more rain for her.
Our final runner is Ballymore Castle in the Betfred Lotto '100k Cash Giveaway' Apprentice Handicap and he's another who's best with some give underfoot. He's in great order though and quite well handicapped if things fall right for him.
