Richard Fahey: My Saturday team
Leading trainer Richard Fahey guides us through his Saturday team from York to Newmarket to Newcastle.
Richard Fahey is hoping for a big run from Honourable
Saturday is the final day of York's season and it would be nice to have another winner there but it's very competitive.
Another Touch is first up in the Coral Stakes. I was a fraction disappointed with his last run at Ayr but he was badly drawn that day. I wouldn't be surprised if he bounced back and ran a better race here.
I'll have to see what the ground is like for Dolphin Vista in the Download The Coral App Handicap. I'd like rain for him as he's definitely best with a bit of cut. He won well at Beverley last time and is a good, tough handicapper.
Rosebride ran well when second in a Group race at Ayr last time. I'd be thrilled if she could pick up some more black type in the coral.co.uk Rockingham Stakes and it would be fantastic if she got her head in front again.
We're double-handed in the Coral Sprint Trophy. Mayfair Lady ran well at Ripon last time and we know she goes well here having already won twice at the track. She's not very big to be carrying top weight so we're claiming five off her with Adam McNamara. She'll need to be at her very best here but you never draw a line through her at York.
George Bowen has been very disappointing this season. We're taking the blinkers off him here in the hope they may have been bothering him as he continues to work very well but hasn't been in the same form on the track. I'd love to see him bounce back.
Buccaneers Cove has run okay on his two starts to date. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he was good enough to win a York maiden but I'm happy to let him take his chance in the coral.co.uk EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes.
Gleese The Devil won the Coral Stayers Stakes last season and ran well at Hamilton last time. He looks to be coming back to form and must have a chance again providing the ground isn't too quick.
We have four in the closing Coldstream Guards Association Cup. Carnageo did well to win at Ripon last time and with a decent draw in six would probably be the pick of my team here.
Stardrifter is what he is but on a going day would have a place chance. Intiwin has disappointed the last twice he's run at York and needs to put his best foot forward here. Cadeaux Magnifique had a little problem and is just coming back to himself now. He'd ideally prefer slower ground.
The Dubai Business Internships Fillies' Nursery at Newmarket is competitive but we are double-handed.
Aimez La Vie ran a good race from a terrible draw at Chester last time and I'm happy with her. Honourable is improving the whole time. She gets plenty of weight from those at the top of the handicap and should run well.
We run three in the Betfred Cesarewitch and while it would be a very brave call to say we're going to win it, they do all have small chances.
Angel Gabriel will definitely get the trip and ran a better race at Haydock last time which is encouraging. Gabriel The Hero has been disappointing but if back on his A-game would have a chance of sneaking a place – as would Gabrial's Star on the pick of his runs including decent efforts in the last two Chester Cups.
Our final runners are at Newcastle. Rashford's Double has been progressing slowly, he's a little thick and the penny took a while to drop but he's getting better and has his chance in the Office Glass Solutions Northern Ltd Nursery.
Eldorado Creek got jarred up but is back moving and working well again. He must have every chance in the Rockfon Maiden Stakes.
Western Presence has been very frustrating and disappointed at Beverley last time. He's one of two runners in the Hadley Steel Framing Nursery. Cheerful Character hangs to her left and we don't know why. We're just hoping she improves with racing.
