Roi reigns at Newbury
La Bague Au Roi made all in the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Newbury to complete a hat-trick.
La Bague Au Roi is still unbeaten over hurdles
Warren Greatrex's mare was a smart bumper performer and has proved equally adept over hurdles, winning her first three starts.
Harry Bannister set out to make all aboard the daughter of Doctor Dino and timed the fractions perfectly as La Bague Au Roi had more than enough in the tank to see off the challenges of her rivals.
Both Copper Kay and Dusky Legend loomed large in her wing mirrors in the straight but never managed to get on terms as the 5/4 favourite lengthened clear to win by over three lengths.
She was chased home by market rival Dusky Legend who was conceding 3lb to the winner.
Greatrex said: "It is amazing what a few hours can do. She was good. Like I've said all along, it is not ideal to keep leading, as she doesn't do a lot in front.
"But you can see the size and scope of her that there is no point making it a crawl.
"She will be better on better ground. Her jumping is getting so slick. I'd probably say she would have a break now and come back in the spring.
"She deserves to go there (Trull House) now. It just depends whether we go straight there or have a run before."
