Sedgefield card called off
This afternoon's meeting at Sedgefield has been abandoned due to heavy snow, but the other cards are expected to go ahead.
Officials had deployed frost sheets on all vulnerable areas of the track on Thursday and called a precautionary inspection for 7am.
However, their efforts were in vain as heavy snow had left the track unraceable.
Lingfield also received a covering of snow for their all-weather card but the track is being worked through with the Gallop Master equipment and other areas of the course, including the grandstands, being cleared.
Bosses at Wolverhampton say they are "continuing to monitor the situation" for this evening's card, with some snow having fallen and further snow showers a possibility. At present, there is no threat to racing.
Racing also goes ahead at Huntingdon, where the overnight temperature got no lower than -0.6C, and where there is no snow on the ground.
