Gavin Sheehan is looking forward to being back in action
Sheehan has been sidelined since fracturing his wrist in a fall at Newbury on New Year's Eve but is raring to go after recuperating in Australia.
The jockey is due to partner his 2015 World Hurdle hero Cole Harden in the galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham and already has one eye on the stayers' crown.
"I think the Stayers Hurdle could be the way forward for him this year and I wouldn't be afraid to stick blinkers on him to get a bit more improvement," he told talkSPORT2.
"Unowhatimeanharry is definitely one of the ones to beat but JP's also get Jezki and Shaneshill was impressive on Thursday but it's a race that's up for grabs."
Sheehan doesn't have an obvious ride in the Cheltenham Gold Cup currently but he's in no doubt about which of the current contenders he'd like to get the leg up on.
"Thistlecrack is definitely one I'd want to be riding in the race," he revealed.
"I think he's got it all there to be honest.
"He's got the class, he's actually got a bit of speed, he stays very well, he handled Cheltenham well at the Festival last year and he's won around there over fences.
"I can't really see much else in the race that's going to strongly put it up to him.
"Cue Card I'd like to see go back and give it a really good rattle; he was a bit unfortunate last year. In saying that there's also another Tizzard horse there in Native River
"It will be a very interesting race and I Imagine Native River might just go out and give it a mad-strong gallop but that might just tee it up for Thistlecrack. I don't know but it will be exciting."
