GRADE 1 winner Sidney's Candy will remain at Ricardo Benedicto's Haras La Pasion in Argentina to take up permanent residence for the southern hemisphere breeding season.
The nine-year-old son of Candy Ride had been shuttling to Haras La Pasion, which is located in the providence of Buenos Aires, for the last five southern hemisphere breeding seasons after standing at WinStar Farm during the northern hemisphere season.
From his first crop of three-year-olds in 2016, Sidney's Candy has sired the filly Pluja, winner of the Grade 2 Polla de Potrancas at La Plata.
In the US he has also supplied the three-year-old colt Converge, winner of the Grade 3 Palm Beach at Gulfstream and Santa Anita graded stakes-placed filly Sheeza Milky Way.
During his racing career Sidney's Candy set a Del Mar track record in his maiden-breaking performance as a two-year-old and nearly added a dirt track record to his CV when he won the Grade 3 Sir Beaufort Stakes as a three-year-old.
Sidney's Candy finest hour came when he landed the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, defeating a field that included champion Lookin At Lucky.
He went on to capture six graded stakes wins and earnings in excess of $1million.
