KEMPTON plays host to some well-bred horses on Wednesday evening as they make their debuts in the 1m3f maiden at 6.15pm.
The first of those to catch the eye is the Ralph Beckett-trained Here And Now, a three-year-old son of Dansili who counts Oaks heroine Look Here as his dam.
Bred by Lawn Stud, he is the third foal out of the daughter of Hernando and is a half-brother to the winners Hereawi and Sea Here. Further back it is the family of black-type performers Regardez and Kayah.
Here And Now will be looking to go one better than his older siblings, who both failed to win on their debuts. He will be in safe hands as Beckett masterminded the career of his Group 1-winning dam.
His sire Dansili, who stands at Banstead Manor Stud at a fee of £65,000, has supplied Group 1 scorers Harbinger, Rail Link, The Fugue and Flintshire since retiring to stud.
Among his opponents is another debutant in the shape of Sun Or Shade, a son of Galileo who lines up for Newmarket handler John Gosden.
Bred by Mount Brilliant Farm and Ranch, he is out of the Green Desert mare Desert Classic and is closely related to Wrote, a son of High Chaparral who landed the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf for Aidan O'Brien.
Sun Or Shade is a half-brother to Flawless Beauty and Diara Angel and was bought back by his vendor for 240,000gns when offered by Highclere Stud at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
