Southwell to inspect after rain

The all-weather Flat meeting at Southwell on Tuesday must pass a precautionary 7.15am inspection.

A runner is reflected in a large puddle in the parade ring at Kempton Park on Monday.

Around 35mm of rain had already fallen in Nottinghamshire by late Monday afternoon, with more forecast.

As a result there was standing water left on the track and officials will check conditions in the morning before being able to give the go-ahead.

Further rain is forecast overnight but an update from the track said that they were "working to address" the problem areas on the Fibresand track.
