THE Goffs Sportsman's Sale will revert to a one-day sale, taking place on September 28 immediately following the two-day Orby Sale.

The move is a response to feedback from vendors and purchasers following last year's two-part sale and it now returns to its previous format where in 2015 the sale recorded a 90 per cent clearance rate and average price of just under €25,000.

Previous graduates of the Sportsman's Sale include Prince of Wales's Stakes scorer My Dream Boat, who was sold by Knockatrina House Stud as a yearling for €16,000 to Shanavill Stables in 2013.

Henry Beeby, chief executive of the Goffs Group, said: "This return to a one-day Sportsman's Sale will benefit all concerned and bring the Sportsman's Sale back in line with its previous success."
