Stalls handler dies at Haydock
A stalls handler has died of injuries sustained during an accident at Haydock on Friday afternoon.
Stephen Yarborough was involved in an incident before the fourth race and was taken to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Clerk of the course at Haydock, Kirkland Tellwright, told Sky Sports News an investigation is under way.
John Bozza, chief executive at Yarborough's employers RaceTech, said: "Our thoughts are very much with Stephen's family, close friends and his colleagues at this very sad time.
"Stephen was an experienced and popular member of the team; he will be hugely missed by everyone. We are doing all we can to support Stephen's family and the investigation at this stage."
Racing was abandoned after the accident, which happened before the scheduled 3.30pm contest.
