Stoute upbeat on Ulysses
Sir Michael Stoute was in positive mood ahead of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Stoute-trained Ulysses will attempt to follow up his impressive win in the Coral-Eclipse with victory at Ascot and Sir Michael was upbeat on chances if he runs.
"We are very happy with him. As far as the trip is concerned, he won the Gordon Stakes and he ran a very solid race at Santa Anita in the Breeder's Cup Turf," he told QIPCO British Champions Series on You Tube.
"He's more settled this year, he relaxes better, so that'll be to his advantage. I think the trip to Santa Anita did him some good.
"It looks a very interesting contest this time round. I'm looking forward to it."
Ulysses looks set to go up against Highland Reel and Stoute feels it could be a good contest between the two, as long as the rain holds off.
Stoute added: "He's [Highland Reel] a very admirable horse, very tough, but we go there hopeful. I hope there's not too much rain.
"I just wouldn't want it too testing, so we will have to see how the weather behaves but we're hoping to run."
