CLASSIC heroine Taghrooda is one of the illustrious names among the elites mares set to visit exciting sire Muhaarar in his second season at Nunnery Stud in 2017.
A homebred daughter of Sea The Stars, Taghrooda was trained by John Gosden for Hamdan Al Maktoum to win four races including the Oaks and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at the highest level.
Along with Grade 1 winner Entisaar, they are part of the 11 mares that Sheikh Hamdan is sending to the son of Oasis Dream this year.
Blue-blooded mares who are also scheduled to visit the four-time Group 1 scorer are Tarfah, the dam of triple Classic winner Camelot, as well as the dams of Group 1 winners Tamayuz, Toormore, Robin Of Navan, Red Cadeaux, Planteur and Maarek.
The first crop of foals by the sprinting sensation are set to arrive later this month with Muhaarar having covered a book of 129 mares in his first season at the Norfolk operation.
Stud director Richard Lancaster said: "We worked very hard to get Muhaarar an excellent second book of mares in 2017 and we're very pleased with the result. He has again been supported strongly by Shadwell and Godolphin as well as some very prominent owner and commercial breeders; we're very thankful for their continued support.
"Muhaarar has developed into a very impressive stamp of a horse with strength and good looks that belie his easy and athletic action. With a top-class first book of mares and his own physical superiority, we are looking forward to his first crop of foals with confidence."
