Latest news from this afternoon's meeting at Goodwood as Tara Celeb won on her debut for Mick Channon.
Tara Celeb (centre) wins at Goodwood
Tara Celeb carried on a fine family tradition when gamely making a winning debut in the Absolute Aesthetics maiden Fillies' Stakes at Goodwood.
The 11-1 shot refused to be denied when harried by Money In My Pocket throughout the final furlong, holding on by a neck, with Bella Alissa catching the eye finishing best of all in third.
Winning owner The Tara Moon Partnership like nothing more than having winners at Goodwood and spokesman Mike Tourle said: "This is our local track and Mick (Channon, trainer) advised us to come here rather than Brighton.
"He said this track would suit her better and his wise words have paid off.
"She has only been in training for three months and almost all the progeny of our mare Tara Moon are winners. Tara Moon has a Mastercraftsman foal and is now in foal to Al Kazeem."
Winning jockey John Egan added: "The good quick ground suited her and she's going to improve as she steps up in trip."
