Tepin wins Woodbine Mile
Superstar mare Tepin extended her winning run to eight races with victory in the Woodbine Mile, in which British raider Mutakayyef finished third.
Tepin: Won the Woodbine Mile
Sent off a short odds-on favourite at Canadian racecourse Woodbine, the Royal Ascot-winning five-year-old was too good for William Haggas' inmate, an unlucky third in the Juddmonte International at York last time.
Tepin was not that visually electric on the rain-softened turf, but the mount of Julien Leparoux still had the class to cosily repel Tower Of Texas, with Mutakayyef not far away under Dane O'Neill.
Compatriot Arod, trained by Peter Chapple-Hyam, was unplaced.
The winner so endeared herself to British racegoers by landing the Queen Anne Stakes at the Royal meeting in June and was having her first start since that day in Berkshire.
