Dancing Breeze looked an exciting prospect when making a successful racecourse debut at Newmarket four weeks ago, travelling smoothly into contention as the field entered the final two furlongs and finding plenty to see off the attentions of the runner-up close home. There should be more to come with that initial experience under her belt and Dancing Breeze can take this step up in class in her stride if making the expected progress here, with On Her Toes an obvious danger.
Dartmouth showed himself to be a very smart performer in six starts as a four-year-old and again ran well when second on his most recent outing in the Canadian International at Woodbine in October. That form sets a clear standard on Timeform ratings here and, with the possibility of more to come now back up in trip, Dartmouth shades the vote from the lightly-raced Crimean Tatar and is fancied to provide trainer Sir Michael Stoute with a third victory in this race in the last four years.
Gibbs Hill showed improved form when making a successful seasonal debut at Wolverhampton three weeks ago, still on the bridle when hitting the front two-out and quickly forging clear thereafter. That form gives him the edge over Cymro on Timeform ratings, and with further improvement likely to be forthcoming after just five starts, Gibbs Hill is taken to defy a 9 lb hike in the weights and can show himself to be a pattern performer in the making for Roger Varian.
